my story
Born in Honolulu, Hawaii (yay!) but moved shortly after when my Dad retired from Marine Corps active duty.
Raised in tiny South Dakota town – population 1,200 (no stoplights!) and worked in my parents’ grocery store from age 5 on (our motto: the customer is always right - even when they are a little old lady who brings a knife to cut off the stems of the bananas so she doesn’t have to pay for them!). My sister and I created all weekly store signs with those giant old school marker sets plus drew and colored 3 ft. tall animals & clowns for our annual ‘circus sale’ promotion (lions and tigers and bears, oh my!). This was the start of my ‘career’ in art.
Moved to Colorado after college with my adventure-loving husband. My goal: enjoy and explore the outdoors every day – love to go mountain biking, snowboarding, hiking and running with our two sons. Run the Bolder Boulder annually, a tradition my Dad started with us.
Love to read anything and everything from non-fiction to psychological thrillers with unpredictable endings.
Favorite vacation so far: Rome! Although most recently Hawaii ranks right up there. On the bucket list to visit: Greece, Paris, Switzerland, New Zealand… the list goes on and on. On the list to try: hot air balloon ride, jungle biking in St. Lucia, zip lining through luscious Costa Rica, take our sons white water rafting and more!
